When a poet like Mollie passes, I feel everything a little more deeply: the owl sings a little deeper, the jays seem to have more courage, the blossoms on the plum trees seem to fill all the empty space left by winter…As her home here on Arnold Street bursts into Spring, I am reminded of her strong commitment to the care of her loved ones and her community. I will always be reminded of her by coyote, rabbits, and cedar. I am so grateful for the sanctuary she held here by the creek, in her poetic prose, and in her heart. Thank you so much for being a family that knows how to love long and deep like the land.
God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.
Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.
In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.
Amen.My dear and precious cousins, Debbie, Dee, and Deanna and families, I wish with all my heart, I could be there with you all to share in the celebration of my Auntie & your mother’s life. I will always remember her laughing. I love & miss you all. May God comfort you.Aloha ia au ‘oe mau loa
