December 26, 1921 ~ August 21, 2012 (age 90)
She lived in Portland all her life except for the years spent in the Minidoka Internment Camp. Mori worked as a waitress at Foster Cafe, Lipman Wolfe’s Chocolate Lounge, Kon Tiki and Sapporo Restaurants. She had many loyal customers that would follow her to each new job. Her ability to remember them and their favorite order made them feel special.
From her brothers, Toman “Tomo”, Emon “Emo” and Tsukasa “Kasa”, she grew up loving sports and gambling. She was a devoted fan of the Trail Blazers and Mariners and many evenings were spent at the Multnomah Dog Track.
Tomo (Fumi), Emo (May) and their children provided Mori with a large and active extended family. Mori was married to Benny Nisperos with whom she had a daughter, Judy. They later divorced and she married Paciano “Jimmy” Jubinal, who passed away in 2003. With Jimmy, she became an avid fisherman.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Willamette Valley Country Club, 900 Country Club Place, Canby.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Impact NW, Attn: Development, PO Box 33530, Portland 97292 or Oregon Humane Society, PO Box 11364, Portland 97211.
