Naomi Brown Obituary

Naomi B. Brown, 90, passed away February 19, 2012. Naomi was born in Portland to Henry and Lillian Brown on February 17, 1922. She had lived in Gresham for 27 years before moving to her caretaker’s home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles and Jim.

She leaves her sister, Leona Brown, and lots of nephews and nieces.

Naomi received her Bachelors Degree from Lewis & Clark College. Then she received her masters and doctorate degrees where she studied at Columbia University, New York and Denver University, Colorado. She served in various roles of teaching and administration at Northern Idaho College of Education; Washington State University; Hanover College, Indiana; Linfield College, Oregon and for 16 years at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She was deeply commited to education, community issues and professional growth. She enjoyed memberships in churches wherever she went and worked with various civic causes. Her hobbies were books.

Memorial Service, March 3 at 1:30 p.m. at Woodland Park Baptist Church, 11373 NE Halsey St., Portland.
