September 14, 1988 ~ November 26, 2012 (age 24)
Nick was born September 14th, 1988, in Keene, N.H. He was joined by his sister, Carley, 3 1/2 years later, before the family relocated to West Linn, OR. He attended West Linn Public Schools and graduated from West Linn High in 2007.
He enjoyed sports, especially baseball, and was rarely seen without his Boston Red Sox hat. He played organized baseball in West Linn for many years. He liked to snowboard, wakeboard, and play golf with his family. He grew up camping with a close knit group of families.
All through his school years, Nick had a great group of friends. They spent many hours making movies and mischief . They raced recycling bins down Hidden Springs Road, rode bicycles down the boat dock and into the Willamette River, and made and produced several of their own movies. They provided both themselves and many others with hours of amusement.
Nick fully embraced the PDX lifestyle. Although he wasn’t born here, he felt that Portland was his home. He enjoyed the many diverse areas of Portland, the food carts being one of his favorites. He lived life on his own terms and followed his own drummer. His presence and his 100 watt smile will be missed by all.
Nick leaves behind his parents, Nigel and Alison Dolder; his sister, Carley; his grandparents, Bill and Sue Smith, Judy Allen, Ken and Janet Dolder; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He touched our lives, he touched our hearts, he made us laugh and smile. Be at peace, Nick, we love you with all our hearts!
A memorial service will be held December 1st, 4:20 PM at Riverview Abbey, 0319 SW Taylors Ferry Road, Portland, OR. At the family’s request, on behalf of Nick, they ask for no somber attire. Tye Dye encouraged. The foyer of the Abbey tends to be cold, dress warmly.
