Ralph Ph.D. Obituary

Ralph D. Tanz, Ph.D. was born Oct. 10, 1925. He died July 10, 2012 at the age of 86.

Ralph Tanz, PHD Professor Emeritus from OHSU and WWII Navy veteran, passed away from age related causes.

He pursued post-graduate work from Harvard and the University of Colorado. Ralph’s career in biomedicine was focused on cardiovascular research yielding over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles and authoring numerous textbook chapters. The results of his achievements were recognized internationally, where he regularly spoke to the scientific community.

He passionately enjoyed tennis, boating, tolerated golf and loved fishing. Ralph volunteered with various civic organizations.

Dr. Tanz leaves his wife of 60 years, three sons and four grandchildren.
