Rodney “Rod” Trahan died Friday, May 25, 2018, his 81st birthday.Born in Portland, Oregon, son of Alvin and Rachel Trahan, Rod was a life-long Oregonian, except for two-and-a-half years spent at Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana. He graduated from Scappoose High School in 1955 and attended the University of Oregon. Rod was united in marriage to Sandy on November 22, 1962, in Reno, Nevada. They raised their family in the Portland metro area their entire marriage. Rod served 12 years in the Oregon National Guard. He worked for Hoffman Construction for 33 years, retiring in 1997 as their Data Processing Manager. Service to the community included many fraternal and youth organizations, including: Boy Scouts of America who honored him with the Silver Beaver Award, the Data Processing Managers’ Association where he served as President of the local chapter, most recently Rod and Sandy enjoyed belonging to the Elks Lodge in Hillsboro, Oregon, where he helped build award-winning 4th of July floats.

He is survived by his wife of 55+ years, Sandra; children Lynda and Russell R.; grandchildren Qwade and Kamille; grandson-in-law Nathan; great-grandchildren Lily Cheyanne and Owen; sister-in-law Kathy; and many nieces and nephews.
