June 30, 1930 ~ May 1, 2018 (age 87)
In 1957 the family moved to Eugene where Ron began work with the Tromp & McKinley Insurance Agency. He eventually became a partner and then CEO of the agency. When Willis Corroon purchased the agency, he served as CEO for the statewide operations before retiring in 1992. Ron was respected for his fairness and integrity. He was a wise and steady boss who helped build a family atmosphere that former employees still miss.
He was a longtime member of Central Lutheran Church in Eugene, where he served two years as council president; Eugene Active 20-30 Club (president); Eugene City budget committee; Lane County Insurance Agent’s Association (president); the Rotary Club; Oregon Bach Festival (board member); and Western Lane Community Foundation (president).
Ron loved socializing, romance, travel, family gatherings at their lakehouse, cars, boats, power tools and the Oregon Ducks. He had a sense of humor to the end of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Cleve; his son, David Boehi (Merry); daughter, Dee Dee Munson (Dave); grandchildren, Bethany Johnson (David), Missy O’Dell (Ryan), Chris Munson and Jessica Harvey (Jameson); and great-grandson, Carter Johnson.
