September 30, 1936 ~ March 14, 2018 (age 81)
Sally, 81, passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side. She had been battling pancreatic cancer for the past 21 months.
Sally was born in Portland, Oregon to William and Isabel Spear. She graduated from Grant High School in 1955 and OHSU in 1958 in Radiologic Technology; married Thomas Charter in 1959; and had three children. She worked at the Children’s Clinic, then at Shriner’s Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1999.
Sally is survived by her children, Bruce, Kelly and Peggie; her seven grandchildren, Mark, Blake, Alex, Nina, Sara, Henry and Lucy; and her sister Molly and brother Peter.
Sally will be entombed at the Riverview Abbey. There will be a Celebration of Life for her on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 12:30-3:00 at The Aerie at Eagle Landing, 10220 SE Causey Avenue, Happy Valley, OR 97086.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital in Sally’s memory.
