December 27, 1945 ~ December 12, 2024 (age 78)
Sandra Kay (Reinmiller) Booth (“Sandy”) passed away December 12, 2024, in Lake Oswego, Oregon, surrounded by her family. Sandy was born in Portland, the fifth of seven children, and her life was characterized by her love for family, her sense of adventure, and her generous heart.
Sandy’s compassion touched everyone she met. She was happiest when her home was filled with family, friends, laughter, and good food. She had a remarkable ability to turn simple gatherings into cherished celebrations – be it a birthday, holiday, or Sunday dinner – and she delighted in creating special traditions, making every moment memorable.
The heart of Sandy’s life was her family. She adored her husband, Jim, with whom she shared 58 years. Together they raised three loving sons – Jay, Brian, and Jeff. But spending time with her grandkids – Mary Kate, Rose, James, Sadie, and Violet – was a role she treasured most. Spoiling her grandchildren brought her endless joy.
Sandy also had a deep passion for helping others. Her work with P.E.O., an international sisterhood dedicated to supporting women’s education, was one of her greatest joys. Over the years, Sandy’s leadership and dedication helped countless women achieve their goals, and she cherished the lifelong friendships she made through this work.
Her kindness, grace, and selfless love will live on in the hearts of those that knew her.
Sandy will be missed by her devoted husband; her three sons; her daughters-in-law, Ellie, Shirley and Paula; and her beloved grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on January 11, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Valley Community Presbyterian Church (8060 SW Brentwood Street, Portland OR 97225).
In lieu of flowers, an online gift in Sandy’s name may be made to the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Please direct your gift to the Partnership for Continuing Education and specify Chapter AB/OR.
