November 6, 2024 (age 62)
Shari Heitkemper, aged 62, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024 in Portland, Oregon. Born on March 15, 1962, Shari, lived a life marked by resilience and grace, in the face of lifelong, severe health challenges.
Shari attended St. Thomas More elementary school followed by St. Mary’s Academy for high school. Throughout her life, she maintained a wonderful sense of humor and an unshakeable faith in God – she was a source of inspiration for all who knew her. She loved music (Elvis always remained her favorite!), loved to dance (all agreed she had the best rhythm in the family!) and also enjoyed art, drawing, coloring and painting. She held a profound love for her family and her faith, which were central to her life.
Shari was preceded in death by her loving father, Jim Heitkemper, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Sharon Marie Heitkemper, siblings, Elise Brown (Rich), Jim Heitkemper Jr (Lisa), Anne Palmer (Bill) and John Heitkemper. Shari also leaves behind nine loving nieces and nephews and six grandnieces and grandnephews.
Shari will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her laughter and her deep, abiding love of her family. And Shari will forever live in all our hearts as the greatest inspiration and a testament of love of family and strong faith.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday 11/14 at 11:30 am at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Please check with the cemetery office for directions to the chapel.
