Sheryl Mathers Obituary

Sheryl Jo Burgess Mathers, an operator of McDonald’s Restaurants, died February 22, 2014, following a 42-day hospitalization at Portland’s Adventist Hospital. Her death was due to complications with flu and pneumonia.

Sherry became an operator in 1994 with the purchase of the McDonald’s Restaurant in Sandy. She went on to open another on Sunnyside Road and two more which she purchased from her father in Troutdale.

Sherry is survived by her father, Ollie; sisters, Gail, Karen and Nancy; children, Joe Allen Burgess, Brad Burgess and Vanessa Burgess; and grandchildren, Samuel Burgess, Violet Burgess, Seamus Burgess and Tanner Stutz.

Sherry enjoyed life to the fullest with her quick wit, and her fun personality kept people laughing. She will be greatly missed by many.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the Embassy Suites Hotel on Airport Way.
