November 6, 1930 ~ February 5, 2016 (age 85)
Shirley spent most of her summers visiting family in Los Angeles and Portland. She enjoyed traveling. Some of her adventures took her to Mexico, Europe, and China. She would often share her travel experiences with her students with special meals and other classroom projects.
In the late 1980s, Shirley retired from teaching and moved back to Portland. She became involved in numerous organizations, including Friends of the Oregon Symphony, Our Lady of the Lake Choir, and other choirs, one of which performed at Carnegie Hall. Shirley continued her love of teaching by becoming a volunteer tutor for elementary school students in Lake Oswego. Shirley devoted her life to helping others through her teaching and volunteering. She also enjoyed working and helping customers at the family grocery store, Wizer’s Foods. Family was extremely important to Shirley. She found great joy in family beach trips, dinners and get togethers.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Eugene Wizer. She is survived by her sister-in-law Janet Wizer; nieces Sara Lamon, Suzanne Wizer and Kimberly Wizer; two great nieces and one great nephew.
The rosary will be recited on Friday, February 12 at 7:30pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be at Our Lake of the Lake Catholic Church on Saturday, February 13th at 11:00am.

Love & Prayers.
Love,
Cuz Kate
She was one of my favorite teachers at Llewellyn Grade School. I will never forget her.
Please accept my sincere condolence for your loss. There is hope for the future when as (Isa.25:8) the last enemy death will be done away with and we will see our loved ones again as (John 5:28, 29) says there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. So draw close to God and he will draw close to you (James 4: 8). Hope these scriptures bring some comfort during your time of loss.
Sincerely, Lynn
