July 15, 1948 ~ November 20, 2013 (age 65)
Brock, as he was known to his friends and family, was born in Palo Alto, California to Ray Hannibal and Marilyn-Jeanne Pallanche.
Although he was born in California, Oregon was his home. Growing up in Medford, Oregon Brock learned a love for all things outdoor, from camping and fishing to horseback riding and boating. Brock always wanted a piece of the adventure, he loved the Northwest and all it had to offer. Brock was a highly intelligent individual; he worked his way up the high tech ladder at Tektronix, and was employed there as a hardware engineer for over thirty-five years.
Brock loved swing and jazz music. Anyone that ever met him was probably privy to at least a couple of his choice tracks. He was very involved in the Portland swing dancing scene for many years, overseeing and hosting such events as “Swingin’ in the Park” and “Brock’s Swingin’ Christmas”. Later in his life he found yet another love, skiing. Having picked up the sport to keep up with his son on the slopes, it quickly became a new obsession. He got involved with the Cascade Ski Club, PACRAT Racing, Hope on the Slopes, and even got a part-time job at Timberline in his retirement. Government Camp was like a second home to him, and he became a Charlie’s frequenter and a retired ski bum extraordinaire.
Survived by his only son, Quinn Hannibal, his sister, Leslie Eve Brown, his brother, Eric Bret Hannibal, his aunt, Irma Jean Crouch, his uncle, Warren Hannibal, his niece, Corinna Brown Garza, and his nephews, Carson Hannibal, and Lionel, Cameron, and Isaac Brown.
Preceded in death by his sister, Janet Lynne Hannibal, his parents, Ray Hannibal and Marilyn-Jeanne Pallanche, and his niece Dana Hannibal; may they all rest in peace.
Service to be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2013 from 2:00pm-3:30pm at Unity of Beaverton Church, service by Rev. Guy Lynch, ashes will be scattered by Quinn Hannibal.
Brock Hannibal’s body was cremated by Riverview Abbey Funeral Home, Mortuary, and Crematorium.

Brock was my cousin and although I did not know him terribly well, I did spend some memorable times with him in San Francisco and once when I came up to Portland. I loved him for his sense of humor and his intelligence, and his love of music and dance. I thought it was so cool that he became a ski bum later in life. He was truly a person who loved life, and I know his family and friends will miss him always.
