Susan Wood Obituary

Susan was born Alice Susan Asher in Long Beach, California. As a young girl, Susan moved to Hawaii to live with her father while he served in the Navy, during which time she and her family survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. After moving back to California, Susan migrated to Portland, Oregon with her family in 1950, where she remained. Susan married Robert Wood in 1961.

Susan was a founding member of the current Rose City Motorcycle Club, and rode solo alongside her husband for 27 years until retirement from active riding in 1999. Her devotion to the club remained through her days. She continued as an active member in the club, and was the editor of the Ramblin’ Rose newsletter until her death.

Susan passed away on December 1, 2011 from pancreatic cancer.

Remembrances should be made to the American Cancer Society.
