Terry grew up in the Fauntleroy area of West Seattle, and graduated from West Seattle High School. He was an excellent swimmer, training in backstroke for Olympic trials at the time. He attended the University of Washington, where he was affiliated with the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

Terry served in the United States Navy from 1949 to 1951. After his Naval career, he received his teaching degree from San Jose State College. A life long professor at Portland Community College, he was Head of the Speech Department when he retired in 1994. Beloved by his students, he saw the College enlarge from one small campus to the four impressive campuses at present.

He was an avid gardener in his off-time, when not spending time with his family. He loved to travel, especially to visit with his sister who lived in Ireland. They both cherished their close Irish roots, which were strong on both sides of the family.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Dorothy Sprague Mullin and Samuel Eugene Mullin, who brought him into this world March 1st, 1929. His wife, Grace Mullin also preceded him in 2006, as well as her daughter Charlene Anderson and her son Jack Ginnis.

Terry is survived by his two sons, Kevin Mullin and his son Jeffery Mullin, both of Spokane Washington; and Brian Mullin, his wife Sue Mullin and their son Nate Mullin, and daughter Rachel Mullin, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also surviving are his sister Kay Mullin of Port Townsend Washington, and Grace’s extended family members of Oregon City, Oregon.

A Memorial Service is pending. The family held a private service at Riverview Abbey Mausoleum.
