July 30, 1947 ~ July 31, 2019 (age 72)
Tim Foley passed away after a short, but courageous battle with glioblastoma. Throughout it all, his sense of humor, glib personality, and quick wit kept friends, family, and his caretakers on their toes.
Tim was a lifelong Oregonian, who loved the natural beauty of his state. He was an avid outdoorsman, who helped pioneer surfing on the north Oregon coast in the 1960s. He loved surfing the earth on Mt. Hood in the winter and fly fishing coastal streams.
Tim was a lifelong student of art and studied other artist’s techniques and styles in developing his own. He was a prolific painter and his use of color and detail in his water scenes were amazing.
Tim retired from a long career in landscape maintenance and delighted in having the best yard on the block, bar none.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Barbara, sisters Tina (Steve, TJ), Barbara (Phil), Becky (Steve), and brother Bob (Julie), brother and sister-in law, Joe and Judy Allen (Joe, Megu), brother and sister in law, Bryan and Susan Gadd.
A celebration of Tim’s life will take place at a later date.

Tim was a wonderful man and a true partner with Barbara. He will be missed by all who knew him, but the wonderful memories shown in the tribute pictures will live on! Much love to Barbara and others in his family!
Tim was a great friend and a great neighbor. We will miss him very much. We will especially miss his sense of humor and his love of Portland and all things Oregon.
Tim Foley was the best brother in law a person could have. We will always remember his fabulous sense of humor a great outdoor man and a gentle soul. We will miss you dearly. We love you my brother. Bryan and Susan Gadd â¤ï¸
Tim was the type of person who made you think one minute and the next minute had you rolling with laughter. He and Barb were a great team, truly best friends. My love and support go out to Barb and all of the Foley clan! Â
I met Tim by happenstance, or perhaps fate if you believe in that sorta thing, when I answered an employment ad for his landscape business in 1990. Thankfully he hired me on the spot and we worked together for at least 3 summers. We clicked right away. He taught me to snowboard, longboard skateboard, refine my landscape skills, and even more just about life (as you might know Tim had the gift of gab😊). I will miss him deeply and our nice, long, and often funny conversations. Tim was truly a one off and Barb and Tim made an amazing duo! Hope you are riding the endless wave Timbo-Love you Foley!â¤ï¸ðŸ˜¢
So very sorry to learn of Tim’s passing. He was a warm and friendly host and a gracious man.
Tim was always an upbeat addition to any gathering. So sorry to hear this news.
We are so sorry to hear about Tim. We always enjoyed talking travel with you both. Seeing you on the trail brightened our walks.Â
As an old surfing buddy (64/65) our trips to the coast in his OLD Plymouth were always a TRIP. Short Sand, Ecola or Pacific City many times only had us on the beach. RIDE ON BRO !
Tim and I met many years ago snowboarding on Mt Hood. Tim had a sweet “Surf Style” turn and we shared a lot of favorite runs.  Tim was a blast to hang out with, clever conversation and witty humor was the norm!  I am so sorry to hear of his illness and passing.  May you surf and snowboard the perfect runs in forever!!! Going to miss you buddy!!! BryanÂ
