Ginny has moved on to be with her husband of 62 years, Thomas D Taylor, her mother, and her sister. We feel blessed to have known and loved Ginny during her 97 years. She will be greatly missed, but we take comfort in knowing that heaven is a happier and classier place with her there.
Ginny led by example. Family, friendship, and faith were her priorities. She also constantly added to her extended family.
She felt deeply blessed and grateful for the wonderful life she was given. She shared her blessings through generous donations to many charities, never losing sight of who she was or the importance of giving back to the community.
Born in Portland to Perdita & Claire Rodgers, she graduated from Grant High School. While at Grant she won a Hollywood screen test. She opted, however, for life as mother and partner to her husband Tom. She met Tom on a blind date arranged by Tom’s sister Betty Taylor Miller, a classmate of Virginia’s. Always the supportive partner through the many years in the trucking industry, they moved many times until finally returning to Portland for good.
Ginny was known as a gracious hostess and loved a lively party. She was happiest surrounded by family and friends. A woman of many talents, Ginny enjoyed a good hand of cards, sewing, cooking, and shopping. Her quick, joyful sense of humor charmed and amused all and endured until the very end. She loved to travel. She and Tom traveled to most every continent, along the way enjoying second homes in Hawaii and Palm Springs but always returned to either their home in Portland or to their most loved home in Cannon Beach.
She enjoyed being a member of many organizations including Multnomah Athletic Club, Astoria Country Club, The Town Club, Waverley Country Club, and Sunset Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son Steve (Meri), daughter Kathy Miller (Howard), four grandchildren Jay Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Jennifer Singleton (Ivan), Tim Van Dyke, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten and her dearest friend and traveling companion, Arlene LeLanchon.

My sincere sympathy to each of you for your loss. Psalms 90:10 says that the usual life span is 70 or 80 years. When man was created, it was God’s purpose that he would live forever. Romans 5:12 explains why death and sickness occurs. His purpose has not changed. He assures us that he will restore life to all who are in his memory right here on earth under the best of conditions.
Revelation 21:3-5
John 5:28,29
Psalms 37:29
